MISSION
Lake Superior Community Theatre is organized exclusively for artistic and educational purposes. The purpose of this corporation is to provide quality, local theatre productions for both educational and entertainment benefits; to promote the continuation and growth of the arts within the North Shore Communities of Minnesota and to strengthen community relations through active participation.
ABOUT
Lake Superior Community Theatre is a grassroots creative community collective providing quality theatre on the northern shores of Lake Superior. Past productions include Fences, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, Guys & Dolls, and many more!
THE STORY
Lake Superior Community Theatre (LSCT) was created by local volunteers in March of 2002 in Silver Bay, Minnesota and incorporated in 2007 as a federal 501(C)(3) non-profit. Our purpose is to present locally produced, high quality theatrical productions, supported by significant expertise, leadership, strong volunteer support and significant funding. Additional benefits include teaching stagecraft and building community.
LSCT has traditionally presented big cast musicals, although during two seasons the company presented a comedy and a talent showcase. In 2003 we staged our first production, the musical Li'l Abner and have presented yearly theatrical productions on the boards of our home stage of Silver Bay William Kelley High School. IN 2011 productions toured Two Harbors and expanded to Duluth in 2018. The theatre is managed by our executive director overseen by our five-member board of directors.
